The Cape Town YMCA is a registered NPO and is affiliated to the South African YMCA and the African Alliance of YMCAs, which links us to the World Alliance of YMCAs; it is therefore part of an organisation with 45 million members in 125 countries around the world.

All YMCA programmes teach the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.  The YMCA is an open and inclusive organization and welcomes all without discrimination to race, ethnicity, color, national origin, citizenship, creed, religion, age, abilities, sexual orientation or income.

In keeping with our purpose, Cape Town YMCA facilitates various programmes to ensure that the people of the Western Province are provided with the means necessary to develop the mind, body, and soul.  To this end, Cape Town YMCA also offers a variety of community outreach services and facilities to meet the community needs.  Our conference centre provides the public with the opportunity to further their educational trainings.   By providing affordable accommodation, people have a safe and warm environment to call home. 

It is our aim to promote the great work of the YMCA programmes and to expand these into the various communities in the greater Cape Town metropolitan. With the requests from communities for Y-Zones in their area, YMCA hopes to eventually fulfil those needs and expand the programmes to reach full potential. In order to do so, YMCA is working toward securing the appropriate funds to afford additional youth workers, necessary supplies, and transportation to reach those neighbourhoods in need. The YMCA has access to amazing staff training and learning resources and it is only that extra financial boost that is required to spread our work into additional disadvantaged communities. In order to achieve our vision, we need the help and support of the community and businesses.
